There are two ways to update the firmware of your phone:
Through OTA (Over the Air): Make sure the phone is charged up to 85 % and then go to Settings > About Device> Software Update> Check for Updates. If you've never visited this section, the phone will show a confirmation message saying that it has been registered on the network. If the Software Update finds something, press Install and for the process to finish.
Through SmartSwitch (replacement to KIES). SmartSwitch is a simple tool designed to create backups and migrate data, but with update feature installed as well. Download the tool and then connect the phone. If there is an update, you will notified via visual confirmation. Follow the on-screen instructions and that's it.
Can I install the stock firmware of my gear S with Kies3?

No, Kies can't be used to install the stock firmware of the Gear S device. You will ned advanced programs for this job. There is one that's being used to flash stock to almost all Samsung devices. It's a called Odin and has the capability of writing stock firmwares on Samsung phones and devices.
I use Kies3 to sync my device and Office Outlook (Contacts, Calendar, tasks and notes). I only receive a message saying that no default mail client has been defined, however Outlook has been defined as the default client. I want to know why this is happening? Is there a solution?

This is a problem with the Kies application itself and the firmware version installed in your phone. First open Kies and make sure to check for latest updates using the Help menu then connect the phone to the PC and update the firmware as necessary. When the process is over, restart the PC and the phone and the sync features should be operational.
Kies 3 doesn't sync with Outlook at all. Can you help?

In order to fix the issue, try updating the utility to the latest version. Alternatively, in order to sync your device with MS Outlook, you can try Samsung PC Studio. It is an application similar with Kies and it is compatible with all major Samsung devices. Also, you can use Android-Sync, AkrutoSync, Sync2 or The Missing Sync. All of them are easy to use, compatible with Android devices and MS Outlook.
